WABlast ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and applicable South African law. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: Your name, email address and password when you register.
• Billing information: Payment is processed by PayFast. We do not store your card details.
• Usage data: Number of messages sent, campaigns run, and credits used.
• Contact lists: Phone numbers and names you import for your campaigns. These are stored temporarily and never shared with third parties.
• Meta API credentials: Your WhatsApp Phone Number ID and Access Token are stored only in your browser's local storage — never on our servers.

2. How we use your information

• To provide and operate the WABlast service
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To track your message usage against your plan limits
• To send you service-related emails (billing receipts, account notices)
• To improve and maintain the platform

3. Your contact lists and POPIA compliance

You are responsible for ensuring that the people on your contact lists have consented to receive WhatsApp messages from you. WABlast provides opt-out management tools — you must honour all opt-out requests immediately. Sending unsolicited messages is a violation of our Terms of Service and may violate POPIA.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties except:

• Supabase: Our database and authentication provider (data stored in EU/US regions)
• PayFast: Payment processing
• Meta: Messages are sent via the Meta WhatsApp Business API
• Legal requirements: If required by South African law or court order

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Campaign logs are retained for 12 months. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and we never store your Meta API tokens on our servers.

7. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You may also object to the processing of your information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

8. Cookies

WABlast uses only essential cookies required for authentication (Supabase session token). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via a notice on the dashboard.
